Mozart Gesellschaft Dortmund 2018/19

Once again in the season 2018/19 we present to you young, refreshing musicians who together with international orchestras on the platform will excite your enthusiasm.
Before this we sincerely invite you a musical-literary event “Mozart the Man” on 6th. May 2018. The famous actor Guenther Maria Halmer will read from Mozart’s emotional letters and the Klenze String Quartet of the Bavarian Staatsorchester will perform with our former scholarship holder Nemorino Scheliga Mozart’s popular clarinet quintet.
In our first matinee in October you can expect to hear the trumpet concerto in E flat major by J.N. Hummel with the trumpeter Zhassulan Abdykalykov from Kasachstan and the Heidelberg Sinfoniker. Sophie Wang, a Taiwanese violinist, will be our guest together with the popular Swiss ensemble CHAARTS in January 2019 and will perform “The Four Seasons” by Vivaldi. The February matinee promises to be a special experience: the soprano Sophie Magdalena Reuter sings with the Dortmund Philharmonic under Gabriel Feltz and the Youth Concert Choir of the Chorakademie Dortmund Mozart’s Motet “Regina Coeli”. You can also look forward to the wonderful concert aria for soprano, piano and orchestra “Ch’io mi scordi di te?” K. 505. Magdalena Muellerperth, our scholarship holder from 2015, will take over the piano part.
Robert Neumann, a German pianist who is only seventeen years old, will perform in our final matinee in April together with the Georgisches Kammerorchester under Ruben Gazarian Mozart’s Piano Concerto K. 271, the virtuosic and most important of the Salzburg piano concertos.
In this season we will be supporting for the first time a piano quartet: the Werther Piano Quartet, a young ensemble whose members are all studying in Antwerp.
In the December matinee they will play Mozart’s piano quartet in g minor K. 478. In addition our scholarsip holder since 2016, Alexander Edelmann, will take over the double bass part in Schubert’s “Trout Quintet”.
The cellist Anastasia Kobekina, who has been a scholarship holder since 2015, has meanwhile gained an excellent international reputation. She is bringing a rarity with her: together with the orchestra l’arte del mondo she will perform in November Mozart’s Flute Concerto K. 314 and Haydn’s Violin Concerto in G Major in arrangements for violoncello and orchestra.
We would like to invite you to a five day members’ trip at the start of September 2018. You can experience with us Maurizio Pollini in the concert hall Glocke at the Bremen Musikfest and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields with Kit Armstrong at the Landgestuet Redefin in the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
We thank all those who contribute to the success of the Mozart Gesellschaft Dortmund, above all our numerous sponsors, helpers and members!
