Anastasia Kobekina, violoncello
Anastasia Kobekina was born in Jekaterinburg, Russia in 1994 and had her first cello lessons at the age of four. In 2006 she was accepted for the class of Olga Galochkina at the Moscow Konservatorium. Since 2012 she has been studying at the famous Kronberg Academy and has won prizes in many international competitions. At home the young cellist attracted attention by winning first prizes e.g. at the television competition „Nutcracker“ in 2007. In 2008 she was a finalist in the Vienna competition „Eurovision Young Musicians“. In 2015 Anastasia Kobekina won the famous Tonali15 music competition in Hamburg. As a soloist she has performed with renowned orchestras like the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre under Valeri Gergiev, the Kremerata Baltica, the Moscow Virtuosi and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. The young cellist attended the Verbier Festival Academy in 2012 and is now a regular guest at international festivals, e.g. "Verbierfestival on Tour“ (2015), Kammermusikfest „Spannungen“ (2013/14), Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (2015/16), „Moscow meets friends“ (2008 - 2012) and the International Chamber Music Festival in Zagreb (2012). Anastasia Kobekina’s chamber music partners include Misha Maisky, Nicholas Altstaedt, András Schiff, Gidon Kremer and Steven Isserlis. She made a recording in 2014 issued by the Hänssler Verlag. This features the Kremerata Baltica under Heinrich Schiff with works by A. Vivaldi (Double Concerto for 2 Celli RV 531 with Edgar Moreau) and Plakidis (Pasticcio à la Rossini). Thanks to her success at the Tonali Competition last year Miss Kobekina plays a violoncello by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini.
