The Scholarship Holders of the Concert Saison 2016/2017
Robert Neumann, piano
The German pianist, Robert Neumann, was born in 2001 and grew up in a family of musicians speaking three languages. At the age of four he began lessons with Monika Giurgiumann. When he was eleven he was accepted as an exhibitionist in the class of Prof. Elza Kolodin at the Freiburg Musikhochschule. At the age of fifteen he already became a full student. For further studies he attends the Internationale Musikakademie in Liechtenstein where as a scholarship holder he profits from intensive teaching and takes part in the activities of the Akademie. He works regularly with Dmitri Bashkirov, Pavel Gililov, Robert Levin, Oleg Maisenberg and Arie Vardi.
After the young pianist won numerous national and international competitions he was awarded the International Classical Music Discovery Award in 2017.
At the age of eight he gave his orchestral debut with the Radiosinfonieorchester Stuttgart and later has given guest performances with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, the Suedwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and the Ensemble Esperanza. He has worked together with the conductors Francesco Angelico, Dan Ettinger and Stefan Sanderling.
Robert has been a guest at international festivals like "Moscow meets friends", "Kissinger Sommer", Schwetzinger Schlosskonzerte, Lucerne Festival, Interlaken Classics, "Klavierfestival Junger Meister" and the Klavier-Festival Ruhr. As the "Artist in Residence" at the Festival Next Generation 2018 he was the successor of Kian Soltani, Aaron Pilsan, Marc Bouchkov among others.
He has already given concerts in famous concert halls like the Stuttgarter Liederhalle, the Rokokotheater of the Schwetzinger Schloss, the Festspielhaus Bregenz, the Salle Cortot Paris, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, Victoria Concert Hall Singapore and the Moscow International Performing Arts Center.
