Tobias Reikow, bassoon

Scholarship holder since 2019

 

Tobias Reikow was born in Stuttgart in 2002 and at the age of nine discovered his passion for bass instruments and began to play the bassoon like his father.
First of all he was given lessons by Prof. Ulrich Hermann and then became at the age of sixteen a young student with him at the Musikhochschule Mainz.
Since 2020 he has been studying at the Musikhochschule Detmold with Prof. Tobias Pelkner.
He has received valuable inspiration at master classes with Stefan Schweigert and Christian Kunert.
He has played under renowned conductors like Kirill Petrenko, Sir Simon Rattle and Iván Fischer in the Bundesjugendorchester, the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
He has won prizes at numerous competitions. He has received scholarships from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Hummel-Gesellschaft Weimar.
Tobias Reikow is a member of the wind quintet Ensemble Quinton.
